LJLGNS077: Gee – Metsas

LJLGNS077: Gee – Metsas
Record label: Lejal Genes
Release date: 11.11.2019
Visit http://www.lejalgenes.ee for more details.

“Metsas” is brewed in Estonian forests, consisting of 160BPM broken beats, melodies and bass streams. The album is based on decades-old sounds that are revisited again by the summer heat of Estonian forests and with the help of modern extras. On “Metsas” (meaning “In the forest”) you can hear the morning birds singing, the chirping night and the roaring bear – as well as the stray walkers, howlers and crackling mushroom pickers. Estonian jungle contains many exciting and worthwhile discoveries, and everyone is encouraged to enjoy their personal experience in peace.

Experienced listeners have outlined the following thoughts about the album: #superb, #meditative stuff, #rawpower, #uniquelycrafted, #cozylistening, reminiscent of #FSOL, #smooth #oldschool #junglevibe and sound, #progressive, #systemfriendly #music.

“Metsas” is the follow-up to Gee’s #anno2013 #140BPM album “Linnas” (meaning “in the city”): https://smarturl.it/ILLCD061

Gee aka GY3 aka Suburban Suspekt is one of the producers behind Estonian experimental dance music project Def Räädu, but he’s also known as a solo artist and a DJ, who’s style consists of tight beats and deep bass with a touch of jazz to help things along. In addition he’s the main force behind Lejal Genes (est. 1996) and Lejal Globe (est. 2007) record labels that are both focusing on releasing modern dance music. He also runs a regular Lejal’Nyte radioshow on legendary bass music station Sub FM.
