9.novembril Rakvere Teatrikohvikus toimuva WHA!? 2012 uue muusika ja kultuuri festivali eelsoojenduseks väljastas plaadimärk Lejal Genes hiphop-rühmituse Grässhopas debüütsingli “Rakvere Eri” koos selle erinevate versioonide ja remiksidega, mille autoriteks on Juke FX, Raadz, Van Small Step ja Melkker.

“Rakvere Eri” esmailmus 2011. aastal Rakvere hiphop-artistide ühendmeeskonna RLV Massive kogumikul “Teine Vool”, mis on järjeks 2007. aastal ilmunud kogumikule “Mõistatuslikud Tegelased”. Pala tekitas koheselt palju arutelu ja tähelepanu, seda kõike sisuliselt nullkampaaniaga. Tänaseks päevaks on loo erinevad “koduvideod” kogunud YouTube keskkonnas juba rohkem kui 50 000 kuulamist ning lugu kõlab sageli paljude inimeste helisüsteemides ja telefonides.

Küsisime loo sõnade autoritelt (Grässhopas = Maxtract & Judabels), et kuidas lugu sündis ning kuidas nad ise mõistavad loo edu? Saime järgmise vastuse:

“Laulu sõnad sündisid ühel korralikul Rakvere majapeol ammu aega tagasi ja põhinevad 100% tõsielulistel sündmustel. Kui saabus aeg stuudios “Rakvere Eri” linti teha, siis proovisime korraks neid sõnu suurepärasele Stupid F-i instrumentaalile laulda. Stuudiokaaslaste reaktsioon oli tormiline ja seetõttu loobusime algsest plaanist sõnad aeglaselt ühele teisele taustale sisse räppida. Nii et võib vist öelda, et see laul sündis katse-eksituse meetodil, stuudiolaboris katsetades. “Rakvere Eri” edu on mõjunud meile väga positiivselt, oleme tegutsemistahet täis ja uued saiad on juba ahjus. Täname kõiki toetajaid eelinfoga, et me alles hakkame seda Eesti muusikamaastikku kuumaks kütma!”
