WHA!? 2013 uue muusika ja kultuuri festival Rakvere Teatris 15.11.2013

15.novembril 2013 Rakvere Teatris seitsmendat korda toimuv WHA!? uue muusika ja kultuuri festival toob taas publikuni põneva läbilõike hetkel aktuaalseimatest ja põnevamatest artistidest. Festivali peaesinejana lennutatakse otse Londonist kohale äsja oma debüütalbumi “Threads” ilmutanud maailmakuulus muusik ja produtsent Om Unit, kelle värske albumi on Mixmag juba tituleerinud 2013. aasta üheks kõige olulisemaks bassimuusika plaadiks.

Om Unit on oma pika karjääri jooksul olnud nii plaadikraapimise (scratching) maailmameistrivõistluste DMC finalist kui ka teinud muusikat sellistele artistidele nagu Dudley Perkins, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Foreign Beggars, Kashmere ja paljud teised. 2011. aastal suutis ta oma salaprojekti “Phillip D Kick“ tegevusega tekitada palju segadust jungle ja juke stiilide muusikamaailmas – remiksides tuntud 1990ndatest pärit klubilugusid sellise hooga, et tekkis lausa uus stiilinimetus “footwork jungle”.

Om Uniti uuel albumil “Threads” segunevad Londoni rütmimeistri armastus hiphopi, rütmika drum’n’bassi ja kiire footworki vastu. Lihtsamalt öeldes – kui sulle meeldib heale helisüsteemile mõeldud muusika, siis meeldib sulle kindlasti ka “Threads”! Olgu lisaks mainitud, et mehe loomingut väljastavad sellised plaadimärgid nagu Metalheadz, Planet Mu, Civil Music, Cosmic Bridge, Exit, Tectonic, All City, Terrorhythm jne.

Väliskülalisele lisaks astuvad oma värskeima loominguga üles ka Rakvere produtsent Gee, kes tutvustab oma hiljutisele albumile “Linnas” lisaks äsja koostatud “Eesti Dubstep 3” kogumikku, ning Jõgevalt pärit Ago Niglas, kes pakub publikule põrklevat house- ja techno-muusika segu, seda mõnusas etnomarinaadis.

Vägagi aktiivne ja kuum programm on kokku saanud ka nö tänavalavale, kus Eesti tipp-DJde Möls ja Hash kõrval tutvustavad oma värskeid albumeid Legendaarne plaadimärgi artist Suur Papa (“Silm Lahti Maga”, “Siim Kallas”, “Estonian Business”) ning Lejal Genes plaadimärgi artistid Vesikas & Fofkin, kes äsja avaldanud oma vägagi eduka debüütalbumi “Litter”.

Lisaks toovad publikuni oma uue loomingu tagatubade sensatsiooniline hiphop-artist Tommy Cash ja lausa kuuest näljasest sõnaseadjast koosnev Hanf Kung grupeering Tallinn-Tartu maanteelt.

Festivali kultuuriprogrammi raames toimub seekord kolm tasuta sündmust. Festivali tehniline meeskond pakub kõigile huvilistele võimalust tulla tutvuma festivali lavade ja tehnika ülesseadmisega algusega kell 15 Rakvere Teatrimajas – oodatud on kõik tehnikahuvilised ja suursündmuste telgitagustest huvitatud. Moodsa programmeerimise maailmast edastab “Interaktiivse multimeedia programmeerimine” töötoa raames harivaid ja praktilisi sõnumeid Rasmus Rattas, seda reedel algusega kell 19 Rakvere Kultuurikeskuses. Lisaks avab ArtoRich tattoo-stuudio artist ja kunstnik Raimond Kukuskin otse WHA!? festivalil oma uue isikunäituse ja tähistab seda näidistätoveerimisega.
